Global App Testing organise Sweden’s First Testathon with Spotify & iZettle
Crowdsourced testing company Global App Testing are set to organise Sweden’s first Testathon in Stockholm with Spotify and iZettle.
“A Testathon is like a hackathon but specifically for testers”, said Owais Peer, co-founder of Global App Testing. “Quite a few members of our tester community have told us they don’t get invited to hackathons, despite it being such an important part of the developer community”.
The Testathon is a not-for-profit event aiming to bring together the best testers in the world so they can learn from each other whilst trying to break real apps.
“We’ll have 30 testers from the Nordics all competing to find bugs in some awesome tech apps”, noted Owais. “At the last event the Spotify QA team flew into London just to attend. We got talking and they really loved it, so we thought we’d organise a Testathon in Sweden. The support from the testing community has been great”.
The best testers will be awarded prizes for a whole host of categories including “Funniest typo” and “Most hacker way to find a bug”.
After testing King’s Farm Heroes Saga at the last Testathon, Spotify and iZettle are now set to be put to the test. “They’re all really well-built apps so you wouldn’t expect to find too many bugs but when you put together the best testers in the world, you’re bound to find something”, said Owais.
The event is on July 5th and for more information visit http://testathon.co.
