Betsson invests in Rush Sports, a real-time football betting startup
Betsson, the Swedish sport gambling giant recently invested in a young app startup called Rush Sports, who are behind Rush Football, a real-time football betting app, allowing users to follow live scores and bet, all from the same screen. Rush Sports has a pretty solid team behind it, the founders also built Football Addicts who are behind the popular Forza Football app. We wrote about Forza Football back in August of 2014 by the way.
“The investment in Rush Sports AB is part of Betsson’s investment strategy, in which Betsson continually evaluates opportunities to strengthen the company’s position in the market. We believe in this investment and look forward with enthusiasm on the development of Rush Sports AB and Rush Football” says Magnus Silfverberg President and CEO of Betsson AB.”
Betsson paid a mere 1.8 MSEK for their 20% stake in Rush Sports, and have a 3-year option to acquire the rest of the company. Given the early successes and traction of Forza Football, and the small price tag required to get involved with Rush, it seems like a win for Betsson who would be hoping to perhaps find a new, more mobile-focused demographic thanks to the Rush app.
